Peoria Announces 2020 Schedule

The Peoria Chiefs have announced their 2020 Midwest League schedule with the first pitch of their 38th season coming on the road in Davenport, Iowa Thursday, April 9 with the home opener set for Monday, April 13 against the Beloit Snappers. Game times and promotions will be announced during the off-season and the first 2500 fans through the gates on Fan Appreciation Night (August 30, 2019) will get a 2020 Magnet Schedule.

The Cardinals & Cubs Once Swapped Outfielders In The Middle Of A Doubleheader

On the afternoon of May 30, 1922, the Cardinals and Cubs squared off in Game 1 of a Memorial Day doubleheader at Cubs Park (it would become Wrigley Field five years later). Center fielder Cliff Heathcote batted seventh for St. Louis and finished 0-for-4, while Chicago right fielder Max Flack drove in a run as part of a 4-1 Cubs win.

Harry Glenn Died Serving In World War I

Harry Glenn was 28 and deep into a professional baseball career that included a stint with the Cardinals when he enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces during World War I. Soon after being assigned to the Aviation Mechanic Training School in St. Paul, Minn., Glenn contracted pneumonia and died, a month before the war ended.
