Tim Lincecum Not Ready To Call it Quits

Tim Lincecum couldn’t reestablish himself as a productive major league pitcher with the Los Angeles Angels last season, but the two-time Cy Young Award winner and Giants legend hasn’t given up on recapturing his previous form.

David Freese Climbs Aboard The Jolly Roger, But Will Always Be A Baseball Hero In St. Louis

When the Cardinals open the season April 3 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh in a Sunday-afternoon game — those words just make me want to smile — old friend David Freese will be there to greet them. Freese will be wearing a Pirates uniform during the reunion, but it will be good to see him back in the National League, and playing for a division rival. With the Cardinals, Pirates and Cubs throwing down for the 2016 NL Central title, former St. Louis players will have a role in the outcome. Jason Heyward and John Lackey will be decked in Cubs’ blue, and Freese has climbed aboard the Jolly Roger.

Alex Rios, David Freese, Tim Lincecum, & Joe Nathan Remain On The Free Agent Market

Spring Training for teams of Major League Baseball continue full steam, but for some players who test market free agency, the waiting and the uncertainty of whether they will get a new contract before the start of the regular series can be exasperating.  (Translated)

When David Carpenter signed a Minor League deal with the Braves, he looked forward to getting the chance to prove he was healthy enough to be an effective reliever within a familiar environment. But less than one week into the Grapefruit League season, Carpenter is now looking for a new employer.

Indians Don't Have Funds To Sign Austin Jackson

Lately rumors have connected the Indians to free agent Austin Jackson. Unless the Indians win the lotto, they are not in the running for the veteran center fielder. They're pretty much tapped out as far as payroll goes.

It's Apparently A Golden Age Of Third Basemen, & David Freese Is Getting Hosed

How does a solid, reliable player enter March without a job? It's unfair, but it's also pretty simple.

David Freese Could Be Useful Platoon Player; Red Sox May Still Be Able To Trade Allen Craig; Austin Jackson Remains Serviceable; Nick Punto Wanted More Family Time

David Freese, 3B, free agent — Freese’s stock has certainly diminished over the years after his fast and furious start with the Cardinals. But to remain on the market? “He’s a useful player,” said one American League scout. “You can argue if he’s a full-time starter. Maybe he’s someone you platoon, but with his experience and the potential for some righthanded power, I’m surprised nobody’s taken the leap yet.” The Indians considered him before they signed Juan Uribe.

Indians Considering Juan Uribe & David Freese

The position that makes the most sense to address at the moment is third base, where Uribe or free-agent David Freese could fit on a one-year contract. The Indians are considering such a move because of the uncertainty surrounding young third baseman Giovanny Urshela. Last year, Urshela performed well defensively, but looked overmatched at the plate in the Majors while fighting through a variety of health woes.

Finding A Landing Spot For David Freese

We’re now more than halfway through the month of February, and yet, despite the fact that pitchers and catchers report will begin to report this week, there are a surprising number of starting-caliber players available on the free-agent market.

David Freese Makes A Ton Of Sense For Indians

The other day I talked about how the Cleveland Indians should really look at upgrading at third base. The internal options are there in Giovanny Urshela and Jose Ramirez, but offensively, they could stand to upgrade. There’s also been no shortage of rumors with the Indians and available third basemen, with the team being linked to trade candidates such as Todd Frazier and free agents such as Juan Uribe and David Freese. In fact, just this morning, Buster Olney tweeted that the Indians are still pursuing Juan Uribe:
