Cardinals Introduce Paul Goldschmidt
He was a high schooler then, standing alongside some buddies in center field as the city of Houston simmered toward an eruption. Paul Goldschmidt's beloved Houston Astros were one out away from advancing to the World Series for the first time.

With fanfare last reserved for a switch-hitting center fielder the Cardinals hoped would rewrite and recharge the top of their lineup, officials Friday introduced the thunder-packed first baseman they feel will revitalize the middle of the order and return them to October.

John Mabry Was Legendary Cardinal
When a baseball team’s manager is axed, sometimes others also march to the guillotine as collateral damage. In this case, that would be Cardinals’ hitting coaches John Mabry and assistant Bill Mueller, a native St. Louisan who was a batting champion for the 2003 Boston Red Sox and a year later a World Series champion with the Red Sox.
