He went from undrafted rookie, to one of the most popular Cardinals of the 1980s to now, a St. Louis hall of famer. Tommy Herr may have had an uphill battle to make it in the big leagues, but there's no doubt he made his chance count.

A Conversation With John Tudor
John Tudor quietly had an outstanding career. Pitching for four teams from 1979-1990, he finessed his way to a 3.12 ERA over 1,797 innings. A crafty lefty who broke in with the Boston Red Sox, he had his best seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1985, Tudor threw 10 shutouts on his way to 21 wins and a second-place showing in that year’s Cy Young balloting. In five seasons with St. Louis, his ERA was a sparkling 2.52

The Easter Weekend With Seat Cushion Night
Easter always takes me back to 1987. The Cardinals and the Mets were the best rivalry in baseball then, and early in the year, in the fourth series of the year, the Mets made their way to STL for the Easter weekend. The Cardinals had won the NL East in 1985 in a tense battle with the Mets, and New York and run away and hid in their championship season of 1986.
