A week after being taken in the Major League Baseball draft, Ian Parry chose baseball over law school.

Parry, the 2006 Naples Daily News Player of the Year as a senior at Barron Collier, signed with the St. Louis Cardinals late Tuesday. The right-handed pitcher was drafted out of Furman in the 39th round in the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
