Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong, who had missed just one start this season and had appeared in every game this year, got a start off Wednesday, replaced by Yairo Munoz. Wong leads National League second basemen in most defensive categories but had a rough night in the field on Tuesday and went hitless, extending his drought to nothing for 13 and dropping his average to .237.

Paul DeJong started at shortstop and batted third.  0-for-3 with one walk, two strikeouts, one throwing error, and assisted in one double play.
Yadier Molina started at catcher and batted sixth.  1-for-3 with one double.
Yairo Munoz started at second baee and batted eighth.  2-for-3 with one caught stealing and assisted in one double play.
Jedd Gyorko entered late in the game as a pinch hitter and batted ninth.  One walk at the plate.
Tyler Webb entered in the sixth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs.  (p-s:13-8)(g/f:2-0)
Luke Gregerson entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  He allowed two hits, no runs, and struck one out.  (p-s:15-11)(g/f:1-0)

Cardinals Homestand Highlights May 6-12, 2019

The Cardinals look to improve upon their MLB-best 12-4 home record when they return to Busch Stadium next week. The seven-game homestand opens with three games against the Philadelphia Phillies (May 6-8) and concludes with a four-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates (May 9-12).
