NLDS Game Two: Pirates (0-1) @ Cardinals (1-0)
It’s early on this Friday, but there is already news coming out of the #STLCards clubhouse. Manager Mike Matheny announced that it will be Michael Wacha starting the if-necessary Game 4 on Monday. Matheny said he went with Wacha over fellow rookie Shelby Miller mostly because of how well Wacha has pitched lately. You’ll remember that he is coming off a near no-hitter in his final regular-season start. A lesser factor, but one nonetheless, is that Miller didn’t pitch all that well in his for starts against Pittsburgh this year.
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny met with rookie Shelby Miller, who made more than 30 starts and won 15 games this season, to let him know that during the division series he'll be insurance.
