It's Difficult To Understand Why The Cardinals Are Standing By Mike Matheny

Although a dignified and courteous man, Cardinals chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. is no stranger to circuses. As a 9-year-old bat boy for the St. Louis Browns, DeWitt had an innocent part in staging the most outrageous stunt in MLB history.

Browns Come Back To Life On TV Documentary Thursday Night

It has been a lifetime, 65 years, since St. Louis had two big-league baseball teams. But the Browns, the lovable losers who led to the coining of a memorable phrase about the city, “First in shoes, first in booze and last in the American League,” are set to surge back to life in an interesting television documentary.

St. Louis Director Remembers Team 'That Baseball Forgot' In Documentary

Although it may be hard to believe, St. Louis' baseball legacy is about more than just the Cardinals. The city's second Major League team, the St. Louis Browns, had 41 losing seasons in 52 years, making them arguably the worst team in baseball. They even inspired the slogan "St. Louis: First in shoes, first in booze, and last in the American League.”

Cardinals Rank #8 In MLB Team's Bobblehead Giveaways

Bobbleheads are still a popular promotional item at your local big league park. And why not? Who doesn't love a bobblehead? A good bobblehead list should focus on the current roster but if a team wants to commemorate its history, that's fine as well, especially if they can find a creative way to do so.
