These moves were made to help protect Wacha’s oft tender right shoulder, in which twice he has had a stress reaction, most recently late in the 2016 season.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced their Medical Team for the upcoming 2017 season today, including the return of Dr. George Paletta, Jr. as the Team's Head Orthopedic Physician along with Mercy Health East Sports Medicine. Paletta most recently held that position with the team in 2013.
