Michael Wacha Aims For 200 Innings; Tyler Lyons Watches Tender Knee; Tyler O'Neill, Yairo Munoz, & Brett Cecil Not In Camp Yet; Brian Mahaffey Promoted
The proof was in the pudding. Cardinals righthander Michael Wacha had his best two starts last season, including his first complete game and shutout, after he was given 11 days’ rest. These moves were made to help protect Wacha’s oft tender right shoulder, in which twice he has had a stress reaction, most recently late in the 2016 season.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame ushered in its Class of 2018 on Sunday night during its enshrinement presented by Killian Construction, inducting a group highlighted by Heisman Trophy winner and former Kansas City Chiefs running back Mike Garrett and St. Louis Cardinals closer Lee Smith.

Cardinals Announce Medical Staff For 2017
The St. Louis Cardinals announced their Medical Team for the upcoming 2017 season today, including the return of Dr. George Paletta, Jr. as the Team's Head Orthopedic Physician along with Mercy Health East Sports Medicine. Paletta most recently held that position with the team in 2013.

While his official role with the team ended before the start of the 2014 season, St. Louis-based orthopedic surgeon George Paletta maintained a presence with the Cardinals helping many players return to the field because the players requested him.

Cardinals Announce Medical Team For 2015
The St. Louis Cardinals announced today their 2015 Medical Staff. The Cardinals and Mercy Hospital begin their third year as partners. The medical team will be under the direction of Head Team Physician Michael Milne, M.D. and Associate Head Team Physician Jason Hand, M.D.

The St. Louis Cardinals and the team's official medical provider Mercy today announced some changes in the Cardinals' medical staff. Dr. George Paletta and Dr. Lyndon Gross will no longer provide medical services to the team as the Cardinals will fully engage a team of Mercy Sports Medicine physicians to provide comprehensive player care.
