MLB World Select Team For Arizona Fall Classic

From October 3 to 15, 2017 a MLB World Select Team is going to travel to Arizona on invitation by Major League Baseball, will play a couple of exhibition games against local Junior Colleges and then compete in the Arizona Fall Classic, a collegiate fall showcase tournament in the United States.

Former Cardinals Playing In European Championship 9-17-16: Curt Smith Singles & Drives In One Run

Jesus Ustariz (former Johnson City-Spain) started at first base and batted sixth.  1-for-4 at the plate.

Spain beat Germany 3-0

Curt Smith (former Springfield-Netherlands) started at first base and batted third.  1-for-4 with one RBI and grounded into one double play.

Netherlands beat Belgium 12-3

MLB European Elite Camp Exposure In The Media: Haarlems Dagblad

Monne Reitsma was one of the Dutch journalists who attended MLB press conference,which was held yesterday in Pioniers stadium prior to the first MLB Elite Camp in Hoofddorp. Reitsma wrote an extensive article for his newspaper Haarlems Dagblad and quoted MLB coaches Barry Larkin and Steve Finley.

MLB Spring Academies Tournament In Sant Boi From April 5-11, 2015

Once again MLB International will hold a MLB Spring Academies Tournament in early April. From April 5 to 11 the top academy players from throughout Europe will travel to Sant Boi, Spain for a preparation style preseason event. Priority is not on results, but on giving players competitive at-bats and innings on the field.

Blue Jays Sign 19-Year Old Belgian Outfielder Sam Buelens

After Thomas de Wolf signed with the New York Mets in 2008 to become the first player born and raised in Belgium in the Minor Leagues, Belgian Baseball has a second prospect. 18-year-old outfielder Sam Buelens, who becomes 19 on December 27, signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.

MLB Academies Spring Tournament Brings Europe's Top Talents In Italy

The seventh annual MLB Academies Spring Tournament took place in Tirrenia and Livorno, Italy from March 30 – April 5. In total, 170 players from eight nations competed in 20 games under the watchful eyes of national team coaches, MLB staff and scouts. Games were played at the CONI Olympic Training Center in Tirrenia and also, for the first time with this event, at the Livorno Baseball Club.

MLB Academies Tournament Gets Kicked Off On Sunday In Tirrenia

This year’s MLB Academies Tournament will get underway on Sunday in Tirrenia, Italy. In the week-long pre-season tourney academy players from the Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, France and Sweden will participate. Special restrictions will be in place and the results are not important. The MLB Academies Tournament was introduced to give the top prospects in European Baseball an opportunity to get playing time in spring.

MLB Academies Tournament 2013 In Tirrenia A Success

The annual MLB Academies Tournament, a preseason tournament organized by MLB International for European baseball academies, returned to Tirrenia, Italy for the first time since its inauguration in 2008. 180 players and 32 coaches from 8 different academies (Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Austria, Sweden and France) participated to play 13 games at the CONI Olympic Training Centre in Tirrenia. 20 MLB organizations and the MLB Scouting Bureau were in attendance to scout all players.

Player Rosters For 2011 MLB Academies Tournament In Regensburg, Germany

From April 3 to 8, players from the national academies in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Sweden and the Czech Republic will play in the 2011 MLB Academies Tournament in Regensburg, Germany. 2010 European Academies Showcase With 28 Players In Florida

After last year’s successful first edition of a European Showcase at USA Baseball’s complex in Durham, North Carolina, the European Baseball Academies selected 28 players in 2010. The roster of European prospects to show off their skills with the premise to find a spot at a North American college will make the trip to Florida this time to play six games from September 24 to October 1. Ten pitchers, four catchers, six outfielders and eight infielders from the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, France and Belgium will be aboard.

European Baseball 2010 Opening Dates

Although the Spanish League in Spain has already completed five weeks of action, the upcoming European baseball season will kick into high gear over the next two weeks as some of the top leagues on the old continent unwrap their 2010 schedules.
