Cardinals Minor League Spring Training Notebook 3-16-19: Evan Kruczynski Strikes Out Three Over Three Scoreless Innings; Tommy Parson Strikes Out Five Over Two Hitless/Scoreless Innings; Scott Hurst Singles, Homers, & Drives In Two Runs



Triple-A: Fresno Beat Memphis 12-7:

Connor Jones (Springfield-Memphis) pitched one inning, allowing no hits or runs, and one walk.
Scott Hurst (Palm Beach-Memphis) manned centerfield and went 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBIs, and one run.
Chase Pinder (Springfield-Memphis) was designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with one double and one run.


Double-A: Springfield Beat Harrisburg 1-0:

Evan Kruczynski (Springfield-Springfield) pitched three innings, allowing no hits or runs, one walk, and struck three out.
Sam Tewes (Palm Beach-Springfield) pitched two innings, allowing no hits or runs, and struck two out.
Ramon Santos (Springfield-Springfield) pitched one inning, allowing no hits or runs, and struck two out.
Roel Ramirez (Springfield-Springfield) pitched one inning, allowing no hits or runs, and struck two out.
Rayder Ascanio (Peoria-Springfield) covered shortstop and had two walks.


A-Advanced: Potomac Beat Palm Beach 2-1:

Kodi Whitley (Peoria-Palm Beach) pitched one inning, allowing one hit, one unearned run, one walk, and struck three out.
Jake Dahlberg (Peoria-Palm Beach) pitched two innings, allowing no hits or runs, and struck two out.
Zach Kirtley (Peoria-Palm Beach) covered first base and went 1-for-2 with one home run, one RBI, one run, and one strikeout.


Single-A: Peoria Beat Hagerstown 4-1:

Tommy Parsons (Johnson City-Peoria) pitched two innings, allowing no hits or runs, and struck five out.
C.J. Saylor (Peoria-Peoria) pitched one inning, allowing no hits or runs, and struck two out.
Malcom Nunez (Dominican Summer League-Peoria) covered third base and went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Luis Flores (Johnson City-Peoria) covered second base and went 2-for-2 at the plate.
