Former Cardinals Draft Selections Playing In College 5-24-18: Shane McCarthy Strikes Out Five & Allows One Run Over Seven Innings; Kep Brown Hits A Solo Home Run; Saul Garza Named To All-Conference Team

Kep Brown (former 2015 draft selection-UNC Wilmington) started in right field and batted 1-for-4 with one home run, one RBI, and one run.

UNC Wilmington beat Northeastern 9-2

Derek Casey (former 2014 draft selection-Virginia) started and pitched 7.2 innings.  He allowed six hits, two earned runs, one walk, and struck nine out for the winning decision (7-4).  (p-s:105-69)(g/f:5-9)

Virginia beat NC State 4-2

Saul Garza (former 2017 draft selection-Howard) was named to WJCAC All-Conference team: NJCAA Official Site

Shane McCarthy (former 2017 draft selection-Seton Hall) started and pitched seven innings.  He allowed five hits, one unearned run, one walk, and struck five out.  (g/f:9-7)

Butler beat Seton Hall 2-1 in 13 innings

Jeremy Ydens (former 2016 draft selection-UCLA) started in left field and batted leadoff.  0-for-4 with three strikeouts.

Cadyn Grenier (former 2015 draft selection-Oregon St) started at shortstop and batted second.  0-for-3 with one sacrifice and one strikeout.

Oregon St beat UCLA 2-0
