Former Cardinals Playing In MLB Playoffs 10-9-17: Daniel Descalso Hits A Solo Home Run; Max Scherzer Strikes Out Seven & Allows One Run Over Six & A Third Innings; Carlos Beltran Doubles & Drives In One Run



Carlos Beltran (former St. Louis-Houston) entered late in the game as a pinch hitter and batted eighth.  1-for-1 with one double and one two-out RBI.

Houston beat Boston 5-4

Max Scherzer (former 2003 draft selection-Washington) started and pitched 6.1 innings.  He allowed one hit, one earned run, three walks, hit one batter, and struck seven out.  0-for-3 with two strikeouts.  (p-s:98-60)(g/f:6-1)

Jon Jay (former St. Louis-Chicago-N) started in centerfield and moved to left, batting leadoff.  0-for-2 with one sacrifice and one hit by pitch.
Jason Heyward (former St. Louis-Chicago-N) started in right field and batted seventh.  1-for-3 at the plate.

Chicago-N beat Washington 2-1

David Peralta (former Johnson City-Arizona) started in left field and batted leadoff.  1-for-4 with one strikeout, grounded into one double play, and one outfield assist.
Daniel Descalso (former St. Louis-Arizona) started at second base and batted seventh.  1-for-3 with one home run, one two-out RBI, one run, and one strikeout.

Los Angeles beat Arizona 3-1
