Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 8-14-17: Angel Castro Strikes Out Eight & Allows Two Runs Over Eight Innings For The Win; Niko Vasquez Singles & Drives In Two Runs; Dan Johnson Singles & Knocks In One Run



Angel Castro (former Memphis-Monterrey) started and pitched eight innings.  He allowed six hits, two earned runs, two home runs, and struck eight out for the winning decision (1-0).  (p-s:110-80)(g/f:10-2)

Monterrey beat Monclova 6-5

Dan Johnson (former St. Louis-Leon) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  1-for-5 with one RBI and one strikeout.
Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Leon) started at shortstop and batted sixth.  1-for-3 with two RBIs (one w/two-outs), one sac fly, two strikeouts, and assisted in one double play.

Pedro Rodriguez (former MiLB signing-Yucatan) entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed one hit, no runs, and struck one out.  (p-s:20-13)(g/f:1-0)

Yucatan beat Leon 5-3 in 11 innings

Richy Pedroza (former Peoria-Aguascalientes) started at shortstop and batted second.  0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

Tijuana beat Aguascalientes 6-3
