The Yankees Play A Risky Game With Joe Girardi & His Contract

New York Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner is taking a familiar a wait-and-see approach regarding the status of manager Joe Girardi. Girardi’s contract expires at the conclusion of the 2017 season. This is nothing new with the Yankees in general and Girardi in particular. It has been the case with everyone from the front office and longtime general manager Brian Cashman and all the way down to the players with Derek Jeter. (Cashman’s contract is up after 2017 as well.)
