If the Cardinals are going to catch the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central next season, it’ll take a significant roster overhaul, some underperformance on the part of the Cubs, and a good bit of luck. Yet there are several moves the club can make that’ll help solidify its chances for a wild card. It can fix the bullpen. It can invest in a free agent outfielder to improve the team defense and on-base percentage.
