The Pirates have been eliminated from the playoffs after two straight trips to the National League Wild Card Game (2014-15), but they still have plenty to play for as they try to keep the Cardinals out of the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Back in April when the season started, it was easy to anticipate the Pirates' season-ending trip to Busch Stadium meaning something for both Pittsburgh and the St. Louis Cardinals.
