With expanded September rosters and a plentiful cast of players making their way back from injuries, the St. Louis Cardinals continue to add reinforcements for the stretch run. They made another move on Thursday, adding a 13th pitcher to their bullpen.

Trevor Rosenthal, sidelined by shoulder and forearm issues since July 26, rejoined the Cardinals' bullpen ahead of Thursday's series opener in San Francisco. He was the second pitcher the Cardinals have activated from the disabled list in as many days, joining Michael Wacha as another potentially impactful arm for the Cardinals as they make the push toward October.
