Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League Playoffs 8-17-16: Niko Vasquez Hits A Solo Home Run; Pedro Rodriguez Pitches One Hitless/Scoreless Innings For The Save; Eugenio Velez Singles & Doubles



Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted third.  1-for-3 with one home run, one two-out RBI, one run, one strikeout, and assisted in one double play.

Monterrey beat Lagana 8-2

Iker Franco (former Springfield-Quintana Roo) started at first base and moved to catcher, batting seventh.  2-for-4 with one run, two strikeouts, and one fielding error.

Daric Barton (former Peoria-Puebla) started at first base and batted fifth.  1-for-4 and assisted in one double play.

Puebla beat Quintana Roo 6-1

Eugenio Velez (former Memphis-Monclova) started in left field and batted leadoff.  2-for-5 with one double, two stolen bases, and one strikeout.
Ramon Delgado (former Memphis-Monclova) entered in the seventh and pitched to one batter.  He allowed no hits or runs for the hold (1).  (p-s:5-3)(g/f:1-0)

Tijuana beat Monclova 4-2 in 11 innings

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
Pedro Rodriguez (former MiLB signing-Yucatan) entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs for the save (1).  (p-s:10-7)(g/f:1-1)

Yucatan beat Campeche 3-1
