Cardinals Activated Matt Carpenter From The Disabled List & Optioned Dean Kiekhefer To Triple-A Memphis

The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's series opener with Atlanta that they have activated All-Star infielder Matt Carpenter (right oblique) from the 15-day disabled list and optioned left-handed pitcher Dean Kiekhefer to Memphis (AAA).

After wrapping up a four-game rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Wednesday, Matt Carpenter rejoined the Cardinals at Busch Stadium on Friday and was activated ahead of the series opener against the Braves.

It took a full month, but Matt Carpenter finally made it back onto the field forr the Cardinals.
