A New Year’s tradition is coming back to Busch Stadium.The Blues and Blackhawks will play at Busch Stadium for the NHL’s Winter Classic on January 2nd, 2017. The official announcement was made Tuesday at Busch Stadium. Members of the Blues, Blackhawks and Cardinals management delivered a press conference from home base.

Two days after the Rams left for Los Angeles, Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III and Blues owner Tom Stillman took part in a ceremonial puck drop at a Blues game -- with Stillman in a Cardinals jacket and DeWitt wearing a Blues jacket to show they were standing with the city.

With the Gateway Arch gleaming in the background St. Louis got their first glimpse of how the field at Busch Stadium will transform into an ice rink for the 2017 Winter Classic between the Blues and Blackhawks.
