They were supposed to stand motionless, and they’re pretty good at this sort of stuff, since they’re trained soldiers and all, but at this moment Wednesday, at an air base in Qatar, they listened to a live feed of the national anthem, being played back home, at a ballpark, at Busch, and so a soldier admitted after: “There’s a lump in your throat the entire time.”
