Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 6-24-16: Niko Vasquez Singles Twice, Homers, & Drives In Three Runs; Ivan Bellazetin Collects Two Singles & One RBI; Jose Martinez Knocks In One Run



Eliezer Alfonzo (former Peoria-Mexico) started at catcher and batted seventh.  1-for-3 and one missed catch error.

Mexico beat Campeche 4-1

Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted ninth.  3-for-4 with one home run, three RBIs, two runs, one strikeout, and assisted in one double play.
Maikel Cleto (former St. Louis-Laguna) entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed two hits, two earned runs, one walk, and struck one out for the blown save (1) and losing decision (0-1).  (p-s:18-12)(g/f:0-1)

Puebla beat Laguna 12-11

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted sixth.  1-for-3 with one run, one walk, and one strikeout.

Yucatan beat Saltillo 16-2

Jose Martinez (former Springfield-Veracruz) started at second base and moved to third, batting sixth.  0-for-3 with one RBI and one sac fly.

Monterrey beat Veracruz 6-5

Ivan Bellazetin (former MiLB tryout-Tabasco) started at second base and batted eighth.  2-for-4 with one RBI, one run, two stolen bases, one strikeout, and assisted in two double plays.

Tabasco beat Reynosa 5-1
