Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 6-9-16: Niko Vasquez Walks & Hits A Two-Run Homer; Luis Garcia Singles, Walks Twice, & Drives In One Run



Daric Barton (former Peoria-Puebla) started at first base and batted fifth.  1-for-3 with one strikeout and grounded into one double play.

Monterrey beat Puebla 10-2 in game two of doubleheader

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted fifth.  1-for-2 with one two-out RBI, two runs, and two walks.

Eliezer Alfonzo (former Peoria-Mexico) started as designated hitter and batted seventh.  1-for-4 with one run and two strikeouts.

Yucatan beat Mexico 19-6

Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted ninth.  1-for-2 with one home run, two RBIs, one run, one walk, and assisted in one double play.

Jose Martinez (former Springfield-Veracruz) started at first base and batted fifth.  1-for-4 with one strikeout and assisted in one double play.

Veracruz beat Laguna 5-2

Ivan Bellazetin (former MiLB tryout-Tabasco) entered late in the game at second base and scored one run.

Tabasco beat Monclova 8-4

Iker Franco (former Springfield-Quintana Roo) started at first base and batted sixth.  1-for-5 with one strikeout and assisted in two double plays.

Quintana Roo beat Tijuana 6-2
