Redbirds Reverb 5-27-16: Slumping Cardinals Take On Max Scherzer

The overview: The Cardinals can’t get in synch. Wednesday against the Cubs, they scored eight runs but the pitching failed and they lost a high-scoring game by a run. Thursday at the Navy Yards neighborhood in D.C., St. Louis starter Mike Leake gave up two runs (both on solo homers) in 7 innings, but the hitters couldn’t muster much support for his performance and the Cards lost a low-scoring game by a run. If the Cardinals can ever get their starting pitching and offense in alignment, this would be a dangerous team.
