Former Cardinals Playing In The Mexican League 5-7-16: Eliezer Alfonzo Doubles; Richy Pedroza Singles & Walks

Daric Barton (former Peoria-Puebla) started at first base and batted fifth.  0-for-4 with one strikeout and assisted in five double plays.

Puebla beat Oaxaca 6-3

Eliezer Alfonzo (former Peoria-Mexico) started at catcher and batted eighth.  1-for-3 with one double, grounded into one double play, and allowed one stolen base.

Tijuana beat Mexico 1-0

Ivan Maldonado (former MiLB tryout-Reynosa) started and pitched six innings.  He allowed five hits, five runs (four earned), two home runs, two walks, hit two batters, threw one wild pitch, and struck three out for the losing decision (1-2).  (p-s:97-59)(g/f:4-8)

Monterrey beat Reynosa 7-3

Richy Pedroza (former Peoria-Aguascalientes) started at second base and moved to shortstop, batting leadoff.  1-for-3 with one run, one walk, one hit by pitch, one caught stealing/pickoff.

Aguascalientes beat Saltillo 6-4

Niko Vasquez (former Springfield-Laguna) started at shortstop and batted third.  0-for-4 at the plate.

Monclova beat Laguna 2-0

Luis Garcia (former New Haven-Yucatan) started as designated hitter and batted fourth.  0-for-4 with one strikeout.

Yucatan beat Carmen 1-0

Iker Franco (former Springfield-Quintana Roo) entered late in the game at catcher and allowed two stolen bases.

Campeche beat Quintana Roo 6-4
