Allegations from the New York Daily News published Tuesday morning prompted officials from ESPN and the St. Louis Cardinals to look for evidence of racial taunts directed at Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward during Monday night's game at Busch Stadium.
Post-Dispatch
Less than a day after a social media firestorm suggested that a national broadcast of the St. Louis Cardinals game Monday night against the Chicago Cubs captured instances of racial slurs from fans targeting Cubs Right Fielder Jason Heyward, no proof has yet surfaced to back up the claim.

In the wake of Monday’s 5-0 loss the Cubs, the Cardinals spent a good portion of Tuesday’s news cycle in the spotlight again. A news item published by the New York Daily News’ Kate Feldman claimed Jason Heyward was not only showered with boos in his return to Busch Stadium, but was also subjected to racial epithets.
KMOV
For Jason Heyward, it’s a non-story. Contrary to a New York Daily News story that accused fans in the crowd at Busch Stadium of using racial slurs towards the Chicago Cubs outfielder, Heyward was unaware of any such action.
