The Padres on Wednesday finally confirmed recent reports that Mark McGwire was indeed hired as Andy Green’s bench coach while announcing his staff in full. Though Alan Zinter (hitting coach), Tarrik Brock (first base coach) and Doug Bochtler (bullpen coach) are joining returners Darren Balsley (pitching coach) and Glenn Hoffman (third base coach), McGwire arrives as the most decorated staffer in recent memory, maybe ever.
