Before the drama begins in the late Friday afternoon shadows of Busch Stadium, let’s get one thing out of the way, putting it to the side like a worn antique that no longer fits the room. The St. Louis Cardinals are about to face the Chicago Cubs in the National League division series, and this has absolutely nothing to do with 1908, William Sianis and his billy goat, the collapse of 1969, or the black cat at Shea Stadium.
