The Cardinals plan to activate right-hander Adam Wainwright on Wednesday and have him available out of their bullpen in a day-night doubleheader against the Pirates. When he pitches, it will be Wainwright's first time back on a mound since April 25, when he hobbled off the field at Miller Park after tearing his left Achilles tendon.
