The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's game in San Francisco that they have placed reliever Trevor Rosenthal on the paternity leave list and recalled from Memphis (AAA) right-handed pitcher Sam Tuivailala, pronounced tooee-vah-lah-lah.

The Cardinals will be without their All-Star closer for the final leg of this three-city road trip, as Trevor Rosenthal returned to St. Louis on Friday morning to attend the birth of his second daughter.
