Cardinals Purchase The Contract Of Tim Cooney From Triple-A Memphis, Option Cody Stanley, & Transfer Adam Wainwright From The 15-Day To 60-Day Disabled List

The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to today's game that rookie left-handed pitcher Tim Cooney has been purchased from Memphis (AAA) and that he will make his Major League debut by making the start in this afternoon's series finale with Philadelphia. The Cardinals also announced that they optioned catcher Cody Stanley to Memphis following last night's win and that pitcher Adam Wainwright has been transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the team's 40-man roster for Cooney's addition.
