Over the course of his 26 years as a big league umpire, Al Clark was on the field for some of the game’s biggest moments–Nolan Ryan winning his 300th game, a Randy Johnson n0-hitter, etc. He also was fired over upgrading a plane ticket and later spent four months in prison for falsely authenticating baseballs. All of this and more is detailed in his book, “Called Out But Safe: A Baseball Umpire’s Journey”.
