Following the 2012 season, Kyle Lohse was one of the last of the St. Louis Cardinals to clean out his locker in the clubhouse–knowing that it was all but a finality that his time with the team was done. The right-hander and many of his teammates were disappointed that he would be heading into free agency instead of remaining with the team that a year before finished a historic comeback to win the World Series and came within a victory of having the chance to repeat.
