Former Cardinals Playing In MLB Action 7-3-14: David Peralta Collects Two Singles, One Home Run; & Four RBIs; David Freese Singles, Doubles, & Drives In Two Runs; Max Scherzer Strikes Out Seven & Allows One Run Over Eight Innings For The Win

Donovan Solano (former Memphis-Miami) started at second base and batted eighth.  1-for-3 at the plate.

Philadelphia beat Miami 5-4


David Peralta (former Johnson City-Arizona) started in left field and batted second.  3-for-5 with one home run, four RBIs, two runs, one strikeout, and one caught stealing.

Arizona beat Pittsburgh 10-2


Max Scherzer (former 2003 draft selection-Detroit) started and pitched eight innings.  He allowed two hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck seven out for the winning decision (10-3).  (p-s:106-75)(g/f:5-8)

Detroit beat Tampa Bay 8-1


Carlos Beltran (former St. Louis-New York-A) started as designated hitter and batted sixth.  1-for-4 with one home run, three RBIs, one run, and two strikeouts.
Brendan Ryan (former St. Louis-New York-A) started at second base and batted ninth.  1-for-4 with one double, one RBI, one run, one strikeout, grounded into one double play, and assisted in one double play.

New York-A beat Minnesota 7-4


Albert Pujols (former St. Louis-Anaheim) started at first base and batted third.  1-for-4 with one ground into double play and assisted in one double play.
David Freese (former St. Louis-Anaheim) started at third base and batted eighth.  2-for-3 with one double, two RBIs, one run, and one strikeout.

Anaheim beat Houston 5-2
