St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Peter Bourjos is on the field early this afternoon–ready to get some extra swings off Assistant Hitting Coach David Bell before live batting practice fully begins. Bourjos is batting seventh tonight against the Chicago Cubs.

The Cardinals have returned home and can, this time, unpack their bags for a while. After playing 26 of their first 38 games on the road, the Cardinals now have a stretch where 19 of the next 22 will be played in Busch Stadium. No other team in the Majors has played fewer than 15 home games so far, further confirmation that the Cardinals’ early schedule was unusually road-heavy.
