Cardinals Place Kevin Siegrist On The 15-Day Disabled List, Recall Sam Freeman From Triple-A Memphis

The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's game that they have placed lefthanded pitcher Kevin Siegrist on the 15-day disabled list with a left forearm strain. Lefthander Sam Freeman has been recalled from Memphis (AAA). Siegrist, who pitched 1.1 shutout, hitless innings in last night's game at Cincinnati, is tied for the team lead with 23 appearances and leads the National League with 12 Holds. Siegrist is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in 20.0 innings pitched.
