Rich Hill Has Opt Out For Tuesday

Rich Hill, LHP, Red Sox — Hill has an opt-out clause in his contract he can exercise on Tuesday. He’s pitched well in camp from a slightly lower than three-quarters delivery, after missing time following the death of his infant son. But there’s no room at the inn on the Red Sox roster, so he’d have to go back to Pawtucket. On Friday, Hill indicated he had no inkling as to which way he was going to go. Lefthanded relievers are in demand, so he might have a major league opportunity if he opts out.
