Day 27: Mets (4-6) @ Cardinals (2-6-2)

After being outscored, 28-6, over the past two days, the Cardinals look to get back on track Tuesday behind ace Adam Wainwright. This will be Wainwright’s second start of the spring, and he’ll be pitching on three days of rest after having his last start postponed a day. He spent the weekend dealing with a bout of strep throat.

Presumably recovered from strep throat, Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright, who has pitched just two innings this spring, will start against the New York Mets today. The Cardinals will try to stop a Grapefruit League slump in which they have been outscored, 28-6, in their last two games.
Cardinal Beat

Last week in Fort Myers Adam Wainwright had his first start of spring training wiped out due to rain. He ended up taking he ball the next day at home. To keep him on schedule for Opening Day, though, he was required to start on three days rest...in spring training.

St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny continues to shuffle his lineup this Spring Training as today Mark Ellis will lead-off and serve as the designated hitter against the New York Mets.
