The St. Louis Cardinals announced following today's game that they have optioned pitcher Eric Fornataro, catcher Audry Perez and outfielder Oscar Taveras to Memphis (AAA).

Oscar Taveras, whose health never allowed him to make the impression he wanted this spring, was optioned to Minor League camp after Thursday’s game. Right-hander Eric Fornataro and catcher Audry Perez were also optioned, leaving the Cardinals with 46 players in camp.
