The Baseball Writers’ Association of America postseason awards concluded tonight with neither the Cardinals nor the Boston Red Sox, the top teams in the National and American Leagues in both the regular season and the postseason, winning any of them.

As many statistics as there are in baseball, at least one more is needed. There needs to be a number to measure the intangibles, those hard-to-quantify factors that can't be found in the box score (or even on fangraphs.com).
