Matt Carpenter Proves Perfect Catalyst For High-Scoring Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals are the highest scoring team in the National League by a wide margin, with 595 runs in 123 games, more than one-third of a run per game better than the Atlanta Braves, who have scored 556 times in 124 contests. The man who has scored the most runs in the league, 91 of them, is 27-year-old infielder Matt Carpenter, the catalyst at the top of the order.
