At this rate, the 19th pick in last year’s draft may not require more than a half season at Triple-A Memphis before he’s ready to join the St. Louis rotation, which already includes homegrown arms Jaime Garcia, Lance Lynn and Shelby Miller (who, coincidentally, was the 19th pick in his draft). Wacha improved to 3-0, 1.96 through four starts after dealing seven innings of three-hit, one-run ball against Iowa yesterday. He struck out six and walked two, throwing 71 strikes in 105 pitches.
