Springfield Report 4-28-13: No More Piggyback For Carlos Martinez; Chris Swauger's Day; Ruben Gotay's Efforts; Mike Shildt On Anthony Ferrara

Left-hander Anthony Ferrara (2-2) took the loss in Game 2, despite allowing only one run on four hits in five innings. Randal Grichuck’s double and Drew Heid’s two-out, run-scoring double in the second inning proved the difference.

“He was locked in,” manager Mike Shildt said. “He made some quality pitches. Good breaking ball. A fastball to both sides and down in the zone.”
