The New Orleans Zephyrs grabbed a 6-2 lead in the top of the 12th inning on Wednesday night in Memphis, but were unable to complete a come-from-behind victory before heavy rains set in.

After waiting an hour and a half to see if the rain would subside Thursday, the Redbirds postponed the completion of Wednesday night’s game against New Orleans, as well as Thursday's regularly scheduled series finale.

The Zephyrs opening road trip has been cut short due to rain and severe weather in Memphis. The Zephyrs and Redbirds game on Wednesday was suspended in the top of 12th inning, with the Z's leading 6-2. New Orleans scored four runs as the rain picked up and the umpires called for the tarp and a rain delay.

The Memphis Redbirds game scheduled to be completed Thursday was postponed a second time due to rain. The regularly scheduled game is postponed as well.
