Memphis Silences Salt Lake 8-1

Memphis scored six runs in the second inning , as the Redbirds coasted to an 8-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Tuesday. Angels’ lefty Scott Kazmir made his first rehab start for Salt Lake and after a 1-2-3 first inning with two strikeouts, trouble found him in the second. With one out, a bunt single and two walks loaded the bases for Memphis. Kazmir fanned Donovan Solano for the second out, but walked the next two batters to force in the first two runs. Aaron Luna followed with a two-run single and Kazmir’s day was over when he hit Nick Stavinoha. Amalio Diaz entered the game and gave up a two-run single to Mark Hamilton to cap off the six-run inning.
