Chris Narveson, Pitching Through Illness, Gets Pounded

It was easily Chris Narveson’s worst start on the young season and afterward, we found out at least part of the reason why.

Roenicke said the left-hander was actually sent home early Sunday because of an illness.

Narveson, of course, was back at Miller Park on Monday to take his scheduled turn but it didn’t last long, as he went just 2 1/3 innings – a season low for a Brewers starter – and gave up eight hits, seven earned runs and a walk against two strikeouts as Milwaukee lost for the fourth time in as many outings this season to the Cincinnati Reds, 9-5.
