Kyle McClellan On The Fast Lane Show 3-21-11
Cardinals pitcher Kyle McClellan joins The Fast Lane. McClellan hasn't been told anything officially about becoming a starting pitcher, but he is looking forward to the regular season. The one thing that McClellan is working on right now is his curve ball which, he says, is inconsistent right now. The potential Cardinals starter says that he gets frustrated when he walks people, he would much rather give up a hit than a walk. He points towards the issues with his curve ball for the reason behind his walks in Spring Training. McClellan wants to be the person to dictate the count, not the hitter. He appreciates the fact that he has had to work into a potential starters role instead of diving in head first. Some organizations will just throw young talent into the fire, but the Cardinals, McClellan says, are a team with great starters already who can compete for a championship each year. The Cardinals will have to stay healthy this year if they want to make a run of the title. Click below to hear the interview.
