Kyle Lohse Continues Run Of Strong Innings; Lance Berkman To Return To Outfield On Thursday; Brandon Dickson Solid In 'B' Game Vs. Braves; Tidbits...

With every start, the resuscitation of Kyle Lohse's career looks a little more real.

After nearly two full seasons of struggles, Lohse feels healthy, and his effectiveness can't be argued. He turned in yet another exemplary start on Monday, pitching six innings of one-hit, shutout ball in a 1-1 tie between the Cardinals and the Braves. It still doesn't count, but as the lineups look more and more like regular-season lineups and Lohse pitches deeper into games, the excitement in the Cardinals' clubhouse grows.

The Atlanta Braves shut out the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-0, in a six-inning "B" game this morning but righthander Bryan Augenstein continued to bid for a job in the Cardinals' bullpen.

Right fielder Lance Berkman, who has been held out of the field since the first exhibition game when he hurt his (left) throwing arm and left calf, will return to the outfield on Thursday against the Florida Marlins, Cardinals manager Tony La Russa said this morning.
