The Carpenter who wears No. 29 in Cardinals' camp is the one who understandably merits the most attention. With righthander Adam Wainwright out for the season after having had elbow surgery, righthander Chris Carpenter is the lone remaining Cardinals ace and has been set back more than a week by a left hamstring.
